He retired from the working world in 2016 after an eclectic career, which included: high school math and science teacher, group home parent for young offenders, university guidance counsellor, university director of residence, management consultant, chief financial officer, financial planner, and tax preparer.
In his youth, Ron worked at a series of hourly jobs that included logging on Vancouver Island, moving freight in the NWT, and clerical work at the Churchill Falls power project. His undergrad is in math and he holds a teaching diploma, an M.Ed., and an MBA. More recently, he spent three years studying computer programming at St Lawrence College. Ron has travelled extensively in Africa.
Over his thirty-two years living in Kingston, he has been on a number of boards including: St Margaret’s Church, Rideau Public Parent Group, Neurofibromatosis Canada, Kingston Family Mediation, Providence Continuing Care, Almost Home, and the Quinte-St. Lawrence Branch of the Canadian Association of Financial Planners.
